This is a powerful anthem that puts you right in the center of that Good Friday. I used it right before we started the Tenebrae section of the service, and it was a great introduction to the seven last words of Christ. It is a little harder to put together...

, but it is well worth it and there wasn't a dry eye in the church. It is so good to find pieces that bring in the emotion of that Good Friday.

This song is riveting! Every time I sing it, I AM AT THE CRUCIFIXION! I AM THERE - hearing, seeing, experiencing it all. No other song has so profoundly transported me into the past and exhilirated my entire being.

The impact of this arrangements continues to resonate long after the final note is sounded. Penetrates the senses, the psyche with the reality of what Christ did for us on Good Friday.

This composition was a deeply moving musical experience for my choir, portraying the Lord's suffering in Gesthemane with keen awareness yet still conveying the message of hope of the ressurection.
