    This is a music-combination coloring book, VERY CHARMING. Older students will balk at the easiness of the melodies, and how they differ from the actual Tchaikovsky tunes -- but that is just a problem inherent in all beginner arrangements. There are no eighth notes, so the melodies are necessarily simpler...

    -sounding. For this reason, they may not initially recognize the tunes. That said, this book could be a real treasure for a student who's just reading around the Middle C range with some ease, and knows the Nutcracker ballet music! The accompanying teacher duets are nicely written, making the simple Primos fun to play! And the pictures are fabulous.
