  • February 19, 2012 Cool

Good music. Well-arranged since the original uses much piano. Book itself has Annoying stiff binding.

  • May 12, 2008 Very nice, but sadly incomplete

The Hours is a really nice book. The music is wonderfull and left me and listeners amazed. However, sadly the book has not been reviewed or arranged by Philip Glass himself. Two men (which I'm sure are really good musicians, do not get me wrong) adapted the original music...

for piano and string quartet to a piano solo. I somehow felt that this was not always done with the same respect and feeling as Glass himself. Too bad, because apart from that it is a marvellous book. I surely recommend it if you're into melancholic and somewhat dramatic music.

  • April 11, 2008 Enjoyable Minimalism

Riesman and Muhly have done a fantastic job in re-creating the atmosphere of the score in this piano arrangement. The depth and precision to be found in it is stunning to say the least... Truly enjoyable minimalstic settings of Glass's original.
