Christmas collection that is really fun to play, Swing into Christmas provides a unique opportunity for string players to explore jazz and to "join" with a first-rate combo in a live recording. The CD contains two versions of each song: a performance of the melody (on violin) with combo and the other tracks with rhythm section only. Designed with the younger player in mind, Swing into Christmas encourages jazz novices to improvise. Some songs include Angels We Have Heard on High, Deck the Halls, The First Noel, Go Tell It On the Mountain, and Jolly Old St. Nicholas.

I absolutely loved this book. Such fun to play these in different ways than the traditional. Pretty easy to sight read quickly at an intermediate level. I'd love to see them publish some ensemble books like this one.
