This is a gorgeous piece worthy of exploring. Intricate fingering and lovely overtures.

Classic Henle - easily readable, reliably accurate. Note that there are editorial fingerings (the editor really loves turning on the fifth finger - he/she uses that strategy brilliantly in certain places and idiotically in others). So as long as you don't mind music with fingerings - some of which you'll...

have to change - this is great.

This is not the usual quality of a Henle book...don't waste your money on Henle if you want this piece of music.

  • March 26, 2008 Each movement a treasure

Each of the four movements in this piece is special in its own way. There is a definite thematic thread running through all of them. The ever-popular Clair de Lune is wonderful, but it is not better than any of the other brilliant movements (the last is my favorite...

). I rate this advanced because it takes a practiced hand and true talent to bring out the nuance and mood that are essential to this piece. Also, this piece is much more difficult for those with small hands because of some rather wide left-hand chord spans. But I do believe that there is much in here that could be mastered by a determined intermediate player. Henley UrText is always the best and for special pieces like this one, worth a little extra cost.
