Stranger on the Shore was a huge hit for British clarinettist Acker Bilk back in the ‘60s and remains the most popular andrequested melody for that instrument. This version is arranged as a duet for twoClarinets.

Musicians at all levels from an easy intermediate standardupwards will find this a popular repertoire piece for both formal and informal concertperformances, with plenty of interest and variety in both parts. The overallperformance time is around two and a half minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to teachensemble playing and talking about tone quality. There is plenty of opportunityfor expression and a wide pitch range is used.
