Charles Hubert Hastings Parry (1848 - 1918) was an English composer, teacher and historian of music.

The Songs of Farewell are a persuasive reminder of Parry’s significant contribution to the English choral tradition. They were composed during the First World War. Parry’s Songs of Farewell are widely acknowledged as masterpieces of unaccompanied choral writing. Scored here for trombone octet. The sonorities of the trombone choir mimic very well the blend achieved with the human voice.
