Der Titel des Stü.ckes bezieht sich auf den Urauffü.hrungsort Bad Sä.ckingen. Dort versammelten sich im November 2000 die Mitglieder der Europä.ischen Trompetergilde (European Trumpet Guild). Bertold Hummel wurde gebeten, ein Stü.ck fü.r diesen Anlass zu komponieren. Der Komponist verwendet darin sechs Trompeten von der Basstrompete bis zur Piccolotrompete, ergä.nzt nur von den Pauken. Die drei Sä.tze sind kontrastreich. im zweiten Satz wird der Hö.rer mit einem ".Nachhall". von Luthers ".Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott". ü.berrascht. Im letzten Satz taucht eine bekannte, moderne Melodie auf, wird verarbeitet und mü.ndet rasch in ein dramatisches Finale.
Hummel verstand es immer wieder, passgenau fü.r einen Anlass oder einen Interpreten zu schreiben, das Publikum zu begeistern und seinem persö.nlichen Stil dabei stets treu zu bleiben.
