ISBN 9781470619329. English.

This beautiful character piece in D-flat Major was written in 1903 but is still an excellent example of 19th Century romanticism, with rolling right hand chordal accompaniment over a cello-like expressivo melody. The piece becomes fairly challenging in its later sections, with octave and cadenza work. Biographical and performance notes are included.

    Difficulty Level:

This piece is mostly a solid intermediate piece with a few moments of virtuosity required, but nothing too difficult to manage since it's only a couple measures. It's very beautiful piece and I recommend playing it. The quality of the score, however, isn't great. It's printed...

on magazine-like paper and I'm sure would fall apart after any heavy use. The score only costs 4 dollars though, so I guess that's to be expected. Besides the flimsy paper, the score is easy to read. I don't really like Alfred's notation style, but it's fine. Considering the price, this is a good buy and a very pretty piece.

The fingering indications are quite sparse, which may not be ideal for less advanced students.

I had played Romance while studying music in college and wanted to go back into my music files, find it, and play it again. Lo and behold, one of the pages was missing so I needed to replace my original copy. The one I received from you has a far...

prettier cover than my original but the music is the same. Thank you!
