Keyboard, piano, flute, violin
Composed by Alan Hommerding (1956-). Sacred. World Library Publications #003104. Published by World Library Publications (GI.G-003104).

Item Number: GI.G-003104

The first piece is inspired by Psalm 138:2, "I will bow down toward your temple and I will praise your name." This piece begins with a meditative motif that builds gently, while underscored by a steady, suppliant piano accompaniment. Psalm 84, "How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Hosts." is set as a processional dance, beginning with a bold statement with a middle-east feel. A constant accelerando keeps the dance moving along with dotted rhythms, glissandi, and open intervals.
