    Difficulty Level:
  • November 27, 2005 An overlooked Christmas gem

These excellent, full arrangements of popular Christmas carols are exactly what the serious pianist needs. Each piece is presented with an introduction, an arrangement intended for accompanying singers, and variations which could be used either as a last verse or a piano solo. The introductions have a decidedly 1940s style...

to them. The arrangements themselves however are timeless, full harmonizations that take advantage of the resources of the piano. Fingering is provided where necessary, and everything is well thought out so as to fit well under the hand. Partial contents: Angels from the realms of glory, Hark! the herald angels sing, We Three Kings, Joy to the world, and perhaps two dozen other similar carols.
