As usual, these editions of the Haydn sonatas are well edited. They are printed on good quality paper, and are spaced out well so they are easy to read. Fingerings seem to be well thought-out My one frustration is the order they have chosen to put the sonatas in...

. There seems to be little or no rhyme or reason why the Hoboken numbers have been totally ignored. For instance, the first three in volume one are: Eb Major (Hoboken 52, 1798); E minor (Hoboken 34, 1778) and Eb Major (Hoboken 49, 1789-90). While I can see the reasoning behind extracting the sonatina level pieces and placing them in the 5th volume, mixing up the rest in a seemingly random order is frustrating and confusing.
