Completed in May 2006, the final year of the composer's life, Missa Brevis (duration 7:40) was written for Edith Ho in observance of her thirtieth anniversary as Organist and Choirmaster of the Church of the Advent, Boston, Massachusetts. Duet sections may be sung by solo voices or by the entire section. These passages are marked Solo or Tutti. Although preferably for unaccompanied chorus, the supplied keyboard part may prove useful in churches with dry acoustics. The duets, however, should preferably not be doubled. This is a significant, powerful work by the late master.
