I am appalled at how many mistakes are in this book. Wrong chords, wrong notes, wrong rhythms, even duplicated lines that will make a real mess of any structured recording you are trying to do. This is also sold as being a "Transcribed Score" - not even close. I've bought...

other "Transcribed Scores" that really ARE: drums, bass, every background part, and that was what I was hoping for here. This is mostly just the solos so if you buy this one you're still going to have to learn a lot by ear and also verify what is in the book by ear to weed out all the mistakes.

This album is one of the best material to study. I only wish if it were an accompanyment CD to play along.

  • July 18, 2007 Great for comeback players

AWESOME!! I haven't played in over five years, but I got this and played along with the CD (which I owned beforehand) and it is SOO much fun. I can't hit the highs like Davis, yet, but the best way to get there is to play up there...

, not sit and do arpeggios. I wanted to play with a band, but I'm still self-conscious about other people's tympanic membranes, so this is ideal. A must have if you like the album!

The way forward, yet reflecting on the past, so simple yet so complex, all captured in this amazing book, feel the beauty of the quintet unfold as you play through these pieces, amazing.
