  • September 26, 2008 Must Have for Male Singers

I really like that the CD has instrumental tracks for each number, as well as another version with the vocals. I'm a beginning singer, so I wasn't sure how to rate the difficulty, but even though some of the notes are high (and some are low), you can...

transpose the pieces with the program on the disk!

For all those singers out really don't have to worry about the backings being bland any more. These are superb backings and are fabulous to use for performance and audition pieces. Great for lower voice ranges.

  • October 18, 2007 Trying too hard

Although the tune selection and backup group are strong, the "in-the-style-of" arrangements are a little hokey. It's better to listen to the originals. Still, I found this songbook useful.

  • August 23, 2007 Great tracks to improvise with on jazz standards.

The first time I sang along with these tracks I felt like I was on stage with my regular band. Good quality recording and the trio were very tight, which is always difficult to convey in recording situation. My only negative comment would be that the piano player could do...

a little less and leave more space for the singer to apply their own phrasing and style.
