Except for a few tongue-twisting scat rhythms, this piece is fine for an intermediate choir. The harmonies toward the end may prove somewhat difficult, but only because of the atrocious piano accompaniment. The piano part, especially during the "doo-wat" sections, is heinous. HEINOUS. it's difficult to play, although it's that too, if one attempts to play the notes as written; it just doesn't sound nice, and often harshly clashes with the choir. During the last three renditions of "doo-wat" at the end, I just give up and ignore what's written and play the vocal lines with the right hand and something resembling the written bass line with the left. Our choir has a grand old time with this piece, but I the pianist am cursing by the time we're done.
