This is a wonderful piece with 3 movements. I love to teach it to my violin students. It has some nice catchy melodies from Jewish folk songs and is lots of fun to play. It isn't very difficult and students have greatly. enjoyed playing it. It uses first and...

third position and is around the level of Suzuki book 4 or 5. There are recordings of it on youtube that people can listen to and/or play along with.

A beautiful work - especially the first movement which has the magnificent hatikvah in the middle of the piece. Difficulty range about Grade 5 level, 1st and 3rd positions. Rhythms are catchy and not difficult as the same rhythm is often repeated.

  • June 07, 2011 A great piece.

The Israeli Concertino is a wonderful performance piece. Not terribly challenging, but very fun to play and hear. It has a good variety of fast, exciting sections and beautiful, lyrical sections. There are no huge technical challenges besides some quick passages, double stops, a few harmonics, and syncopated rhythms, though...

all those things are definitely great practice. Over all I highly recommend l the Israeli Concertino and I enjoyed playing it very much.
