Digital Sheet Music

By George Frideric Handel

Organ - Level 5 - Digital Download
Composed by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). Arranged by Len Rhodes. Baroque, Easter, Graduation, Holiday, Wedding. Score. 6 pages. Len Rhodes Music #4601623. Published by Len Rhodes Music (A0.739984).

Item Number: A0.739984

The perfect organ solo - "Hallelujah" Chorus - from Handel's "Messiah".

Perfect for weddings and other celebrations. Although slightly abridged (the middle choral section did not lend itself to an organ 'voluntary'), this is considered among the best "arrangements" available. It is designed for the advanced organist.

One very pleased purchaser writes: "...for Easter Sunday, I was looking for an organ solo version of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus and found (this). Your version does a great job of encompassing the choral and instrumental parts in a very approachable yet complete arrangement."

I was looking for an organ solo of the "Hallelujah Chorus" that encompassed the choral and accompaniment parts, hopefully shortened a bit to facilitate use as church service music. Len Rhodes' arrangement fills the bill nicely for this. He captures the essence of this exuberant piece in an approachable form...

. If you're real familiar with the piece, you may miss what was excised to shorten it, but this is a tough piece to condense. Those not so familiar with the piece will not miss the cuts. The cuts and omission of some signature musical ornamentation (you might be able to fill some of these in yourself) are all that keep me from giving this 5 stars. All the essential text is covered. This arrangement can be handled by intermediate organists like me, but might require some practice to perfect, there is a lot going on in some places. It will keep your feet dancing!
