Then the piano or harpsichord accompaniment follows in slow and medium tempo for practice purposes with the solo instrument heard softly in the background at a slow tempo. Finally, you can play at the original tempo to the accompaniment of an orchestra, piano, or basso continuo. All versions appearing on the CD were recorded live by renowned soloists, accompanists, and orchestras. There are no synthesized sounds in a Dowani edition! This concerto by Georg Goltermann is one of the easiest of the eight solo concerts he wrote for this instrument. Drawing closely on famous predecessors, such as Robert Schumann's A minor Concerto, his piece captivates the listener with a rich vein of melody, an expansive and elegiac slow movement, and a wittily amusing Allegro presto as a finale. The publication is a revised new edition in which the existing DOWANI recording has been augmented with a new piano reduction, and the solo part has been supplied with fingering marks. - CD with the concert version and 3 accompaniment "play along" versions in three speeds- Outstanding LIVE performances in excellent quality- high quality, cream colored paper- sharp, clear, easy to read print.

Goltermann's 4th concerto is a great piece! The last movement is especially good because it is fun to play and quite fast. You should probably just get Suzuki book 5 for cello because it has just the last movement which is the best, plus much more for a much...

better price than buying the whole concerto. Pice contains some tricky counting, and goes into 7th position. Also there's a part in b major(5 sharps). So...well suited for the higher intermediate player.
