I'd heard Flying Free performed many years ago when my daughter accompanied our middle school chorus. Several months ago, I ran across a copy while going through a stack of sheet music and after playing through it, decided it would be a lovely. easy-to-learn number for our...

church choir to sing at its 150th celebration last month. Because of its simplicity, I figured I could call volunteers out of the congregation to sing it with our regular choir and gratefully, 20 additional people came forward. Everyone who sang it, loved it, and there were numerous appreciative comments from the audience. Because my daughter didn't have time to practice the instrumental descant on her oboe, she played it on the organ using the hautbois stop instead. It added so much to the music.

I just love this song. Were in the middle of learning it with a two part harmony of Alto and Saprano. Were being taught for the last year [...]. He is teaching us, the eighth grade chior and it's amazing to hear our two very little groups sing this song...

with so much confidence and large voices.

It's a great song, Flying Free. I'm in a chior and I sing the harmony, solo. The Conductor nearly burst into tears when she heard me. It doesen't matter who is singing it, that song is just sooo beatiful.
