The songs in this book are not put together well. They don't sound good without the accomp. But the piano parts just follow the flute notes so it just sounds too simplified, and not flowing. I would not recommend it.

  • September 25, 2001 Accompaniment book a necessity

Some of the most popular classical wedding music is included in this book and for that I give it high marks. The possibility of playing solo or duet or trio is a plus. It should be noted that it is absolutely necessary to play with piano accompaniment. Even though the...

notes in the book state that the use of piano is optional, there are entire phrases in most pieces that are missing in the music if the piano is not played. With the piano accompaniment, it's an excellent addition to the flutist's wedding repertoire.

  • January 21, 2001 Confusing Instrumentation

This could be a great book but instead it comes short. There is a companion piano book that can also be purchased, but the jacket discription states that the instrumental book can be used without piano; however, this results in long measures of rests. It works to just skip the...

rests and continue on, however the pieces are considerably shortened and some seem to be really lacking in the melody line if this is done.
