This is an extremely lyrical, yet challenging composition that requires an advanced level of performance (including an advanced trumpet -- D, Eb, G, or Piccolo) in order to do it justice. The organist, Hans-Andre' Stamm is the composer, who has writtten a piece that clearly holds its own among works...

that are specifically written from trumpet and organ. While it has overtones that date back to the Baroque titans, such as Handel, Fasch, Tortelli, Albinoni, Tartini, Corelli, Rameau, etc., it has a more modern approach due to the variations in time signature throughout. The associated performance fully showcases the composition and demonstrates exactly how it will sound when performed. It will also sound well within a church due to the accoutics (as the composer intends, considering he regularly performs in that setting). All I can say is BRAVISSIMO for an extremely excellent composition as well as performance. The advanced performer should include this as part of his repertoire.
