I am an adult beginner, and I love the songs in this book. The play-along CD included is very well done and takes the boredom out of practice. I have used another brand of band book also, and I like this one because it explains new material a little...

better and then gives several exercises, not just one, for practice of the new lesson. It even has accompaniment for practicing technique. However, it has 196 exercises in the book and has accompaniment for only up to exercise #55 (plus a few additional technique exercises). If another CD exists with these exercises on it, I haven't been able to find it. But the songs, the musical accompaniment on the CD, and the way the book explains theory followed by several relevent exercises, are excellent.

  • April 20, 2009 Good book - great service

My daughter needed this book for 7th grade band class (she switched into the class late)and the fact that it came with a CD was really helpful since the french horn doesn't usually play the melody. Very good book.
