  • February 04, 2019 Great music

Came in great condition and is exactly what I wanted. It took ~5 days to get the music, but other than that I couldn’t be happier with the order.

  • August 23, 2014 Too edited

If you compare this to the facsimile at IMSLP, there are many changes by the editor. There are many appoggiaturas that were substituted by actual not values, and the bowings are not all that good...There's a cadenza suggestion, which might be good to follow, and the piano reduction...

    is fine.

  • November 24, 2010 Music great - manscript cramped

The piece, although one of the cornerstones of the cello literature was only discovered in 1961. This is the first published edition and was edited by Slava. However its age shows with the music appearing cramped on the page and a bit hard to read. Although cheap, you are probably...

better off paying some more money and get a better produced version. Henle and Suzuki book 9 for the cello are alternatives that look good. The concerto is not that hard (by concerto standards) but there is a little bit of challenging chord work in the first movement (bars 83-84 ) that takes a lot of practice to get in tune and integrated with the music before and after it. Go on have a go, it’s got a great theme and impresses the non-cellists!

  • May 13, 2008 Great Music!

This is challenging music, but very beautiful, and would be a great addition to a cellist's repertoire. Thumbs up!
