  • September 25, 2008 Amazing Underplayed concerto

This concerto is one of my favorite violin concertos, and that is a great honor, seeing as there are so many of them. I think this piece stands its own against other heavy hitters. I especially love the first and fourth movements, but the whole thing is great, very jubilant...

and fun! There are many strange chords, but this IS Stravinsky, so what do you expect?! It is a very difficult concerto, not for beginners or anyone who isn't very dedicated at practicing. But these melodies are so catchy and flashy and exhilarating. It is a concerto that brings out the good in life.
