Come On and Follow That Star is filled with captivating images of the star that shined so brightly one cold December night long ago. Phrases of the traditional spirituals, "Behold That Star!" and "Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow," heard in the introduction and interludes, add to the fun. The flexible 2-part any combination voicing can be sung by either treble or mixed voices. Passages of call-and-response alternating with unison passages make this easy to teach and fun to sing, for both school and church choirs.

Most of the people of my choir do not read music so that creates quite a challenge. They are used to all singing the same thing at the same time. This song is not that way. We literally disected the song and learned it so much at a time until...

we got thru the whole thing and then put it together. We just sang it this past Sunday and someone from the congregation said the choir sounded AWESOME. Believe me, that's quite a compliment. We loved this anthem and highly recommend it!!!

This piece has been great fun to work on. My choir is quite beginner as far as ability goes and this piece has been quite challenging; I think some of the choristers might get discouraged if the song wasn't just so much fun!
