The music of Queen has endured for decades and become a part of pop music culture. Often used in movies or commercials, this signature rock anthem can now be enjoyed by younger players. This arrangement proves that rock music can demonstrate musicality and teaching value. (4:00).

Purchased as a requested piece for a 60th birthday gig, our 50+ piece concert band (ranging in age from 18 to 84 -- primarily 50+) had only one read-through before first performing this arrangement. Those familiar with Queen found it a pleasing blast-from-the-past, though the truncation did...

not find favor. Those unfamiliar with it were all enthusiastic though some were a bit shocked to realize they were playing classic rock! While it is a fairly easy arrangement considering only the spots on the paper, its multiple time signatures makes it a nice learning tool and careful attention to emphasizing the dynamic changes makes it interesting to listen to.This one is certainly a crowd-pleaser! It was very well received by the 150+ party-goers as part of a very eclectic set. The following week we played it at an Easter Seals camp in a set which also included "Another One Bites The Dust" and "We Will Rock You" (both very easy marching band arrangements)--we made them all happy campers!

This grade 2 piece is a big hit with our 55+ Senior Band. It does omit sections of the original song. However, it more than makes up for it with excellent harmonies and delicate textures. Every section of the band will learn something new. For an early intermediate band, it...

    is a worthwhile experience.

This arrangement only covers about 80% of the piece - the vital head-banging bit is missing! Also missing is the guitar solo (which would probably need to be played on trumpet)at the end of verse 2. Technically not a very challenging arrangement - I'd love a grade 4 or...

5 version for my symphonic band but couldn't find one online.
