I have used all levels of the theory books. I find them somewhat helpful. The lower levels are nicely organized in introducing the chords and inversions. As the levels are getting higher there are very confusing examples/excerpts for teaching harmonic analysis. Often students would get stuck and would leave...

the work unfinished because of either not clear questioning or a mismatch. Also, the book is very generous by leaving very little to do for a student.
