Twelve arias from the Bach cantatas selected and edited as flute duets. These bass arias as written by Bach consist only of the vocal line (1st Flute) and basso continuo (2nd Flute). The bass figures have been omitted, but each aria-duet is presented in its entirety. Excellent material for teacher-pupil duets.

    Much enjoyable volume, bringing to light many Bach arias that are not commonly heard, with challenging transcriptions that fit well on the flute. Not so well on the baroque flute, but are mostly playable. Very well edited by Mr Renzi. A great gift to flute players.

  • September 19, 2010 Nightmarish page turns

    Both parts are included in score format. Not one piece can be played using the book, as every selection has at least one page turn. Since the pages (as with most music) are larger than 8.5 by 11 inches , it will be very difficult to make photocopies. Copies also increase...

    the price paid for the music, and students playing selections in festivals CANNOT use copied music. I regret the purchase.
