I have been learning classical guitar for a few years, but I only recently came across Brouwer's pieces. I enjoyed learning & playing Brouwer's other famous piece, 'Un Dia De Noviembre (One Day in November)', and I had to have more of Brouwer. I came across a rendition of...

'An Idea for Guitar' on YouTube and I just had to learn it. The piece has an interesting & curious few bars that make clever use of harmonics, generating a somewhat 'Japanese garden' ambience. There are a few 'fast' sections but they make use of slurs so quite manageable with practice & repetition. There was one typo I found; in bars 3,15 and 25 the A harmonic on 12th fret should be on the A string rather than D string as suggested. The piece overall is one of those romantic pieces you just wouldn't mind playing to a loved one under a starry night (just my kind of thing). I highly recommend any classical guitarist to consider adding this piece to their repertoire.
