"Those roads I have trodd'n
And the faces I have known,
If I've left a bit of good,
That is my salvation.

Though naught to fame,
or of great deeds reserved to claim,
or that fortune's passed me by.

Perhaps there's no great cause
To which I've sacrificed my life,
If I've lent one helping hand,
That is my salvation.

If no hymns of praise
to my name you raise,
Let that be my saving grace.

If I've left one bit of good.
That is my salvation."
