Compared to Barber's original, this transcription ismuch easier to read with its time signature 4/4 (still a Molto Adagio, though), and avoiding key-signature in (kind of) D minor.Minor errors, though:Piano part, bar 27, bass line e flat moves to b flat on the third beat...

(together with tenor's dotted quarter note).Piano part, bar 31, bass line, dotted half note e should be a gNo objections as to the violin part.I think this transcription sounds a lot better with organ accompaniment instead of piano.

Finally it has been edited for solo violin and piano. Will work nicely in funerals and so forth. Not for beginners. A lot of time changes and key changes during play. Everyone else will love it. Originally for string ensemble, or orchestra and simply lovely that it now can be...

    played solo.
