    Difficulty Level:
  • January 24, 2020 Great Edition and Selection of Pieces

The first time I got to play Debussy from an authentic Edition Durand was the last time I was willing to play Debussy from any other Edition. All Durand editions of Debussy's music are elegantly inscribed and an absolute joy to play from. The paper is high quality, and...

nice and smooth. The print is crisp, dark black and easy to read. Other musical notations are beautifully executed. As for this specific collection of his early works, you get a nice collection of pieces from around the 1890 era that would all play together nicely as a set. I think this would be nice for any pianist who enjoys playing Debussy and likes to explore his earlier and often much less played pieces. They are all very nice, make great performance and recital pieces - and they really aren't too often played (besides Reverie).
