  • April 25, 2013 Disappointing Edition

    This was my first purchase from Schott, and a real shot in the dark as so little information is given above. The printing is dark and clear, but the edition has no fingering at all, nor even a table of contents, and no information about the works beyond their provenance...

    . Six turn out to be Opus 1 published in London by Walsh in 1756 (Illy 30, 11, 43, 45, 50, and 19 according to the liner notes in Matteo Napoli’s CD set). Some slow movements could be played by late intermediates, but otherwise this is definitely a set for advanced pianists. That’s not me, alas
