My pupils found the presentation a little difficult to follow, especially as the tenor parts are wriiten in small print above the alto 3 & 4 parts. The pieces were a little uninspiring

  • February 01, 2002 Best Sax Quartet Book EVER!

At first, I was skeptical of this book, but soon after my group got underway with it, we were enthralled! This is book contains some of the best grooves ever written for sax quartet. My group put in hours and hours of practice time on this book, but every minute...

was well worth it. In fact, the only time we stopped playing out of this magnificent work of art was when our embouchoures gave out. My only comment is that I wish there was a CD out with all of these songs on it, since our group had a little bit of trouble placing the dissonant notes in the right places. In other words, if you have a quartet and are looking for a lot of fun (and hard work) purchase this book!
