I have used these for mallet duets for years now. Two marimbas work best, or one marimba and one xylophone. Even one instrument works if you don't mind a couple of octave adjustments. Whatever you can get to work-try them!

Excellent duets. Mazas knew what he was doing. This is only the first book, though, so it just has 6 of the duets. They are very nice and are sightread-able for an advanced player. They would be very nice as prelude music at a wedding.
