This winner of the 2018 VocalEssence and American Composers Forum Carol Contest is a setting of a text by Valentin Thilo (1607-1662) as translated by Geoffrey W. Daisley (1877-1939). Verse one deals with Christ's incarnation; the second verse speaks of his reconciling us to God; verse three is a prayer of commitment. The music reaches its climax in the final verse on the lyrics, "Joy fills the world." Appropriate for Christmas and general use. .
