Les Barricades Mystérieuses it's a delightful piece arranged for intermediate string quartet or string orchestra, based on the original setting for harpsichord of Couperin's Second livre de pièces de clavecin, sixième ordre.
With its characteristic style brisé and its appealing name, this is one of the most well known pieces from the french composer. Suitable for weddings or any festive event.
It is possible to play the whole piece entirely on pizzicati, producing a sound which is near the original harpsichord setting. If is played that way, the ornaments should be omitted.
Grade 4, some rhythmic and assembling difficulties, but the notes are easy to play.
