Miguel Lerdo deTejada (1869 – 1941) was a Mexicancomposer, pianist and conductor. He studied in Moreliaand MexicoCity. One of his mostpopular pieces was a song Perjura.His zarzuelaswere also very popular in Mexico. He formed his own orchestra in 1901and toured the United States. His compositions are classed as "Lightclassical." and he has been described as the first "popularcomposer" in Mexico.
