About Arvo Part
Part is a composer of classical and sacred music. His early works were composed in a neo-classical style and influenced by Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and Bartok. Since the 1970s, Part composed in a minimalist style, using a self-invented technique called tintinnabuli, which he describes as the ringing of bells. Music from this period is characterized by simple triadic harmonies, simple rhythm, and lack of tempo changes. Most popular works include Fratres, Spiegel Im Spiegel and Tabula Rasa.
